Training for Independence
Training for Independence plans provide adults who have received a traumatic brain injury with therapy, education, support and oversight focusing on restoring or maintaining specific abilities and tasks enabling independent function and participation in their community.
Living My Life
Living My Life Services consist of four components of disability support that are personalised to an individual’s aspirations and goals.
Community Day Services
Community Day Services provides access to age-appropriate group activities for people who are funded through the Ministry of Health, Hauora Tairāwhiti and other funders.

About Us
Prior to April 2018, Strive Rehabilitation Tairāwhiti was known as Gisborne Stewart Centre Trust.
We have a highly experienced interdisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals and coaches who are all committed to working towards our clients goals.
Our rehabilitation team consists of an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech language therapist, psychologist, social worker, dietitian and rehabilitation coaches from diverse fields.
We currently hold various contracts with multiple government agencies which enables the provision of a wide range of services and activities to meet the needs of a variety of people.
Strive Rehabilitation Tairāwhiti’s Quality Management System is certified against NZS 8185:2012-Home and Community Support Sector and audited annually by Q-Audit.
Services
Our Rehabilitation services help people return to their normal or near normal way of daily life. These services may include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, cognitive therapy and speech language therapy.
Our Disability Support services help people with a disability to take part in their community and improve their personal skills by providing access to regular meaningful social contact and stimulating activities.

Training for Independence Services
Training for Independence programmes are for Adults who have received a traumatic brain injury and are wanting to restore and/or maintain their health and ability to participate in their wider community, reducing the likely need for further rehabilitation.
We have an interdisciplinary team of Rehabilitation Professionals and Coaches who can provide you with timely advice, education, support, rehabilitation and oversight services to help you achieve your goals in your own home, community or your work place.

Living My Life Services
The Living My Life Service consists of four components of disability support that are personalised to your aspirations and goals.
Facilitated Pathway Map – We support you to create an easy to understand map showing your vision for your life.
Independent Facilitation – You are supported to independently identify and choose the local supports and services you need.
Tailored Supports – Are services and activities provided to help you gain skills, grow in confidence and achieve goals.
Coaching to Self-Manage – We support you to develop the skills necessary and determine if you are ready to manage your own services and support.

Community Day Services
This service is for people who are funded through the Ministry of Health, Hauora Tairāwhiti and other funders.
Services are focused on an individual’s strengths, needs and goals and they have the same opportunities to participate in a wide range of age-appropriate meaningful activities.
Rehabilitation Activities
